Bushypark Cheque Presentation
Ennis Lions Club (ELC) in conjunction with Clare FM, were delighted to present €11,600 to Bushypark Addiction Treatment Service, a Clarecare Service. These funds are part of the proceeds of the ELC/Clare FM 2023 Radio and Online Auction.
Bushypark will use the funds to continue development of services for clients and family members impacted by substance misuse or addiction related issues, and to be responsive to needs of clients from County Clare and beyond. Mags Nash, CEO at Bushypark advised they are seeing a significant increase in cocaine and gambling use over the past number of years in addition to previous issues of alcohol and polydrug use and an increased need for family support services.
She expressed their gratitude to Ennis Lions Club and Clare FM for recognising and creating awareness of the impact substance mis-use and addiction is having on peoples’ lives, and for helping to improve these situations by this significant funding allocation. The service also recognise the publicity received through the radio interviews and promotions on Clare FM, school’s campaign and through the poster and social media campaigns around the auction. This publicity resulted in increased phone calls and traffic to their website www.bushypark.ie from people seeking support for their own or a loved one’s addiction. Services continue to be held on site at Bushypark while a significant capital building/expansion programme is currently underway, to meet an increase in addiction service provision across residential and community-based programmes.
